The Mapuches were agriculturists, they grew corn, potatoes, peppers, beans and pumpkin, etc.
They used tents as housing, which they carried from one location to another. They slept on sheepskins.
They dressed with "chiripa" and "poncho", and used leather boots as footwear. The women wore their hair with two long braids and covered themselves with blankets held with colored waist bands.
